National Climate Policy Inventories

The Climate Policy Lab at The Fletcher School, Tufts University is pleased to provide comprehensive national climate policy inventories for the United States, China, India, and Ethiopia.  These inventories allow observers to track each government’s progress in designing, implementing, and enforcing national climate policies consistent with their international commitments under the Paris Agreement of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the various agreements associated with the Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer.  There are two inventories for China.  The first inventory is a national climate policy inventory, similar to those for the United States, India, and Ethiopia.  The second is a deeper dive into the Chinese policies governing domestic and international finance.

U.S. Department of Energy Database

This database includes comprehensive data on U.S. Department of Energy research, development, demonstration, and deployment spending by category from fiscal year 1978 to the present.  The data are presented in current and constant dollars. Chart visualizations display trends over time.  The database is updated annually each spring after the new DOE budget request to Congress is released. The data allow users to assess policy for energy technology innovation in the United States. Access the 2022 database here and find other years on our Publications page.
