Blended Finance Models for Clean Energy Projects
Part of the Climate Finance project
In its research on climate policy in the developing world, Climate Policy Lab has investigated whether blended finance models, that is a combination of government and private sector project funding, could lower capital costs for deploying clean energy. We begin by studying possible blended finance frameworks to pay for replacement of diesel pump systems for rural water systems with more sustainable solar pumps in regions of Ethiopia lacking access to irrigation infrastructure.
