Green Bonds
Part of the Climate Finance project
In 2020, governments, corporations, and other entities raised over $490 billion dollars in green bonds and social impact vehicles to fund clean energy and climate adaptation. But the global green bond market suffers from a lack of consistency in definitions and taxonomies. Research on best practices to harmonize definitions and transparency contributes to policy improvement of these important finance mechanisms.
