Soyoung Oh
Predoctoral Research Fellow
Soyoung Oh is a Predoctoral Research Fellow at Climate Policy Lab, focusing on innovation systems and policy design for industrial decarbonization. Her dissertation includes a comparative analysis of green steel transitions in South Korea and Germany, as well as tracing the evolution of reciprocal control mechanisms in South Korea's industrial policy. She is particularly interested in how green industrial policies and carbon pricing mitigate uncertainty, reshape incumbent firm behavior, and shape international competitiveness on green technologies. Her broader interests include low-carbon technology innovation systems, carbon dioxide removal, green growth strategies, and climate policy implementation gaps.
Soyoung received her Master of International Affairs in Trade Policy and Global Economic Governance from Baruch College, City University of New York, and her B.B.A. from Dongguk University in Seoul, South Korea. Before joining CPL, she worked at Columbia University’s Center on Sustainable Investment.
